old bike reflectors have some use

I had some old schwinn reflectors around from a 76 Le Tour and decided I'd use one on my messenger bag. There is a nice bolt on the back of the reflector: cut a slit in the outside flap at a label and bolted that sucker on. The thing is like 3" diameter red reflector so it's great to have that on the back without bolting stuff to the frame.

I think it looks fine on the bag, like it means business. (I've got a blinkie too)

I've got some clear ones too, now to figure out other uses!

Easy easy, had to ride to work first. I may take pics when I get home.

I'm not a fan of my messenger bag, it wanted to wander around a bit. I might need to custom shorten the strap

ok, so pics don't make it look "wow" but whatever, it's far more reflection than the blinkies and I don't have to have that baseball size thing permanent to the bike.

Nice! I'm for anything that will help add visibility, especially now that it's getting dark earlier.

Good idea.
I super glued these yellow ones.

I think they still look ugly. I think you can buy SOLAS tape that are made to be sewn instead of taped on. They would look better and probably be brighter. Though I guess that would cost a bit more, but a few bucks is worth the extra safety in my opinion.

Is that orange thing sticking up in the middle a screw in mount for a camera or video camera? Interesting.

If it's about safety and visibility, that's one thing. But for commuting purposes, you might as well use what you have around the house, so long as it works...unless you're really out to impress those cranky rush hour motorists while they're zooming past you.

Looks like it is a device for impaling or disemboweling in an accident.

It is a tooth remover or Jugular vein extractor. For use only in crashes when you are having trouble not getting hurt enough.

My first attempt for a home made camera mount.

Yeah, my budget is small, so I'm doing with what I have. The bag is too small for all the stuff I may carry, I bought cheap lights, have a little nicer set coming, still need a rear rack to hopefully carry my bag, need a nicer saddle since I'd swapped my nice one to my carbon bike and tires/tubes would be nice too.

That's fine, 26 miles round trip a few times a week isn't meant to break the bank.

I'm not a big fan of bag-mounted lights...they don't often seem to point the way one wants or needs them to point.

And while you're at it, you should probably warn him again about the brown acid.

I swapped the reflectors around. I mount my bag crossways on my new rack so two reflectors aim backwards.

I moved the large Schwinn reflector (made by Cat Eye) to the rear of the rack. Way better than what was included.

the bike light is too low to be seen in traffic or from the right hand side at all. You should have it right under your butt on the seatpost imo.

yeah, I was trying to find a good place to put the Superflash. I removed it from that location as I'm afraid it'll fly off in 5 min.

I have no mount to put it on the rack and with a bag strapped on every day I can't put it on the seatpost.

I have a Blackburn Flea mounted to my helmet to put on solid. I'm now looking for ways to mount the superflash onto the rack.
