What do you do when you forget your clothes?

Normally, I keep a spare change of clothes at work for such occasions, and yesterday I needed it because I carefully got all the required work clothes out and then forgot to put them in my backpack.

Today, DOH! I laid out my clothes AND a spare set to replace the ones I leave at work and again didn't put them in the backpack.

Surely, I'm not the only one who's done this.

I did that just today!

Fortunately, I've been doing this awhile and have an extra set of everything at work. Its a little wrinkly, but dry.

I have a checklist of things I normally take, and I run through it aloud just before I leave. It helps, but one day, I did it, "...lunch, check...," and when I got to work...no lunch.

I should read better- I'll update tomorrow as I am wearing my spare set today. Worst case I hope no one needs to meet with me and run over to the Macy's next door when it opens.

I've got a Marshall's just down the road. Once or twice I've resorted to going there to pick up something new. Usually I only resort to that for underwear. Otherwise, I'll just wear the spare clothes again if necessary.

For those old enough to remember Mr. Shirley's excuses to leave work and attend the Dayton's warehouse sale, I would try to come up with something similar.

I've forgotten to bring underwear several times. In those cases I just make sure that my belt is extra tight because otherwise my pants would slip right off.

I've forgotten shoes and sat around in trainers from my gym bag all day. The only time I forgot clothes, I just rode straight back home and got them. It's only a 3-mile commute.

I can always swipe a t-shirt from the box of marketing chachkis downstairs. If I ever forget my pants, I will cause great amusement for my coworkers, I guess.

Yep, I've had to wear a t-shirt and a pair of school-color/logo shorts all day from the local college bookstore. Expensive mistake! Now I keep a spare set of clothes in the office.

A couple of weeks ago I managed to forget my socks, undershirt, and underwear and there's nowhere near here to go buy new ones. I had to give a presentation that day for some bigwigs, so I was standing up there in a nice suit but sockless, undershirtless, and commando. Not one of my greatest moments.

Never happens to me because I work in a hospital and can just pick up a set of scrub shirt and pants, which I pretty much wear anyways. I have a pair of shoes I just leave there along with some clean underwear. If you wear scrubs outside of the Hospital though, you might be mistaken for an escaped convict.

I just wear regular clothes for my commute so it hasn't been a problem yet. When I used to wear mountain bike shorts and clipless I had this problem more than once. One of the reasons I switched.

Fortunately, this hasn't happened to me. I have enough clothes in my locker at work to go a couple weeks without wearing the same outfit twice. On most days, I don't even know what I'm going to wear until I arrive. The downside is most of my dress clothes (including 3 pairs of shoes and 3 belts) are at work, so my options for dressing up on the weekends are limited. On the other hand, I rarely need to dress up on the weekends....

If I forgot my clothes, I'd have to call my wife to make bail...

I have a 6 mile ride to work, so I wear my office clothes.

Shoot... sometimes I find I've left too many clothes at work. Need clothes for everything from ditch digging to interacting with the public while on the job, so I have several outfits stored in a cabinet and rotate through them during the week.

Leave at least two sets of clothes at work. And set a reminder to ring when I get home so I pack clothes for the next day.

I keep clothes at the office and that has been working out OK. However, for reasons I can't explain, all of my shoes (other than my cycling shoes) have migrated to the office, making the commute a little tricky when I don't ride.

What, you don't think cobbling clipless to your vehicle's gas and brake pedals wouldn't give better road feel and control?
