recommend a chainguard/chaincase?
With rainy season approaching I've been thinking about building up a rain bike. It'll be single speed/fixed or a gearhub. Anyone know a good chainguard? The ones that come up in my searches have the guard along the top end of the chain run. I guess that's good for keeping grease off your pants legs but what I'd like is a guard along the underside of the chain that will keep road spray and grit off the drive train, since I think that causes a lot of wear and tear.

after a little more searching I found english(indian) roadster style chaincases at Yellow Jersey:

OK don't flame me or laugh.
Recumbents have chaintubes, yeah, just a plastic tube that your chain runs through. Wicked small, light, and simple. You have to fab something to hold it in place, though.

hmm, yeah, chaintubes. Doesn't really cover around the chain wheel but I've seen pictures of the Hebie Chainglider which is a similar concept.
I just bought an old Pashley chaincase off ebay, let's see how much hacking it takes to mount.
