Trek 800 frame worth it for cheapo SS commuter?

I can get a 2000 Trek 800 frame for like $10. I have enough spare parts to make a frankenbike.
I was thinking I could make it into an SS or something odd for kicks.

Think this frame it worth it or is it still just a boat anchor and better to find a cross type frame?

You got the spare parts, right? Grab it and make it single speed.

I recently did that with an old 1997 820 that isn't too far off from that 800.

Hmmm, I think a plan is coming together.
I'd been thinking "cyclocross" for a little bit or even urban bomber and all these parts laying around deserve a home.
May give the guy a call.
