I have two light engines, one older (100L?) and one of the 200L models and I hate the battery holders on these things. The 9V connector is problematic at best since it tends to uncouple at the worst times, like on a bumpy section of trail. I have broken a number of the battery holders - luckily they are cheap to replace. It looks like the newer 400L units are more robust but in the 200L range I have switched over to using a P7 flashlight setup - 900L for under $50.00.

I pulled the trigger on a 140 R. I'll give a report in the near future.

I bought a DiNotte setup this year. I got the double A versions of the 200L headlight and 140L tail light. Couldn't be happier.

I just pulled the trigger as well on the 140 R today. Safety is of the upmost importance to me and I don't like to put a $$ limit on that.

That was my decision too. I'm a really cheap bastard, but I decided at some point that I couldn't justify not buying the 140L.
