Mini Puncture Kit for Drop Bar End

I recently re-wrapped my road bike handlebars, and was left with an extra endcap in the process. I also have an extra tire lever, so I decided to get creative and came up with this kit (for quick-release hubs). The hook end of the tire lever fits perfectly inside the inside of the bar endcap.

Includes:
* Quick-Stick tire lever (had to cut off part of the handle to fit inside bar, but I think it'll still work well enough)
* 2 Park Tool glueless patches
* Square of sandpaper for above
* Tire boot (section of old tube)
* Rubber band (to hold components together)

Weight: 0.8 oz. (0.9 oz. with cap)

Of course, a pump is needed, but I always have a Topeak Turbo Morph G on the bike.

Great work, now just figure out how to fit a mini pump in the other side and you'll be set!

Re-read my post after my edit.

Park makes a very small pump, but I doubt even it would fit in the bar.

Thanks, though some testing is in order first.

I just thought of another idea: getting some allen wrenches to fit in the other bar.

Before the cell phone days, I used to keep a couple dimes in my handle bar end caps.

I just improved the design by replacing the tire boot and rubber band with a piece of heat-shrinkable tubing, which allows more clearance, improved retention of components, and can be used as a boot. I had to shrink it to size, though - if there is a size that would work without shrinking, I don't have it here.

You should get one of those CO2 pumps they have, you just stick it in your tire and it fills it up with air. This is a great idea to install on a bike if you are worried about weight but still want the essentials.

Those little bags that go under your seat are great though, they hold everything as far as the compact tools go.

I saw that pump offered on some Dahon folders, but I didn't know until now it was available as a seperate accessory. If I was in the market for a new pump, I'd definitely check it out. Wish it had a gauge, though. Thanks!
