Bikefriday h-bars extenders
Hello,
I am building a new bike and currently trying to find an alternative to drop bars I saw these @ bikefriday and I think they will be comfortable to use for me. http://community.bikefriday.com/site...handlebars.jpg my bike has a quill stem so I dont want a triathlon one piece h-bar but I think these are built with some kind of H extenders because of this picture where they installed gripshifts.. http://community.bikefriday.com/site...ges/Bars-H.GIF I wonder if someone knows how to find such a H-bar extender?.. thank you frederic |
20" wheel bikes typically use a mini ape hanger bar to get the bars up where they need to be. That's the bar I have on my Raleigh Twenty.

My first Bike-Friday had H-bars and they were very comfortable.
You can buy the bars directly from Bike-Friday. Something you may not be aware of is these bars split at the stem to accomadate disassembley and packing. Which is what BFs are designed to do. No reason you cannot use them with a regular stem. Many BF owners like the H-bars so much that they equip their regular bikes with them. So it's been done before. It would probably be best to call them and tell the customer service rep what you are going to do so they can advise you properly. |
hello,
thank you for this usefull information. I gave up with H-bars and went to a classic drop bar setup finally. |
