opinions/ideas on anti-theft measures

i was wondering about your opinions on the advantages/disadvantages of putting magnetic ball-bearings in bicycle components screws instead super gluing ballbearings.

so far i had just dropped in a 5mm magnetic ballbearing into my tiagra rear derailleur to test out this method. its a perfect fit into the screw and now i cannot take the magnetic ballbearing out with small screwdrivers and etc. i have a powerful magnet (taken out from my hard drive) that i will later try to use to take the ballbearing out. so if that works, one advantage of this over supergluing ballbearings is that its easier to take out, incase of ever needing to adjust some components on my bicycle (i have read that it takes forever to take out a superglued ballbearing.)

a disadvantage is that someone could possibly put some super glue on something, stick it to the ball bearing and take it out, easier to do with a magnetic ballbearing. but since its only a deterrent i think its advantage exceeds its disadvantage.

what are your guys opinions on this? also do any of you guys have any additional methods you guys do to secure your bike (filling holes with solder, using a bicycle chain to secure the seat, etc)?

How often do people steal components rather than just stealing the bike (other than wheels)?

it just happened to me a couple weeks ago, due to my fault leaving it out there in the same spot everyday and i procrastinated gluing ball bearings. i think they only stole my parts because they stole my friends fixie next to me and probably was just thought that they might as well take parts of my bike also.
