My Legs Hurt

...its just one of those weeks. Crazy Mon-Thurs winds & some late night drinking have left my Friday legs aching.

Not this week, but pretty normal for me every other one!

For me, winds are more of a pain than hills, so they can definitely put the hurt on you. We had some crazy Santa Ana winds down here in SoCal about a month back, where winds were gusting up to 45 mph. A 30 minute commute home from the subway station turned into an hour and I was so thrashed when I got home, I was literally shaking . . . Do you have a long commute and how fast do you go? If you're going too hard, the aching legs may be nature's way of telling you to chill out for a few days and let your body recover.

I commute about 15mi a day, six days a week. No real hills (unless crossing rivers or freeways count). I ride a single-speed (52X16) so I sort of have to grind through the wind. I don't think I ride too hard. But I definitely need to take a break for a few days. I guess thats what thanksgiving will be for!

The entire reason my 44x17 bike was geared that way was for wind.
My 48x17 is doable... but for my knees sakes I'm gonna gear it down a little (not to a 44 though).

Mine hurt, but that's cause I did a short set of intervals last night.... then only 2.5-3hrs of sleep (not counting the 1hr catnap after work). And I have to stand at work. I'm ready to leave now.
