Fender strut plastic thingy

Where the struts attach to the fork I have a plastic job at the bottom of the V. How do I remove this? I guess I could caveman destroy it, but I figured I shouldn't just in case.

SKS fenders if it matters.

Are you referring to the black plastic piece at the end of the fender support arms? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wUibFSecOQ...ef127f4fcf.jpg If so, you don't remove that piece. That's where the fender support arms attach to the eyelet (or P-clamp if your fork has no eyelets). It's designed as a safety feature. It will break away if something gets jammed in the front wheel.

What she said.

I've learned through experience the value of having the safety release. Removing the offending object, I popped the stays back in and continued on my ride. No crash, no broken stuff. It popped out like it was supposed to, and I popped it back in after clearing the obstruction.

Still, if you want to remove it, just pull. I'll admit it looks clunky.

I need to remove it as it is preventing my fenders from going on. There is not much room in there, so just wanted it off.

A dremel tool is your best friend.
