I posted a similar question a while back with the added issue of having a size xxxxl hand. Stopped in the local dive shop & asked about neoprene & was told not to bother as I'd still be wet & they're not windproof (not to mention they don't come in my size). I also have long arms & the gloves get wet from water running down my arm & into the gloves. I figured what I needed to keep the water out was a sort of gaiter for my arms. Today I stopped in a thrift store & picked up a raincoat & cut off the sleeves & trimmed them run from under my raincoat to between my thumb & fingers. Monday night's commute home calls for rain. Looking forward to trying this out.

Using these for two months (-5 to 10 degree celcius) pretty much satisfied. My hands sweat abit but ok for waterproof glove. I think best feature is durability, since those are workgloves they take anything. You can do small maintenance (flat tires, brake issues..) without having your gloves off in cold weather. Up to now they are OK for me. (heh been lurking around but that is my first post btw)

Is there a solution for this?
Today was 45 degrees and pouring rain. Everything was fine except my fingers. I was using Novara full-finger gloves of some sort, which I was totally happy with until today. Once they got soaked, my fingers froze all the way home. Would glove liners help? Better/different gloves? p http://www.rei.com/product/696509 |
I use the moose mitt with a thin wool glove. My hands stay warm, and I use the hand warmers when the temperature hits below 0.

A pair of these under what you usually wear will get you home safely in the rain. Dry your regular gloves and take a shower.
