Rain pant fit/sizing

Reading the reviews for MEC splash pants, I found two awesome, and opposite, remarks. One reviewer says they are built big, so as to fit over pants, and another says they are tight.

Any feedback from you guys on the MEC splash or other pants? I intend on wearing them over street clothes, and am a 33" waist .

I wear Bellweather Aqua-no rainpants. I have a 34" waist and 32" inseam. I originally bought the large size, but I found them a tad small, so sent them back and got the XL size, which fits me fine.

Thanks! Do you wear them over street clothes?

Columbia thunderstorm pants here, waist and length is accurate. Fits easily over insulated boots (cuff has velcro) and loose cut jeans/cargo pants. Was completely dry after nearly three hours in constant rain with them.

I've got the MEC Whoosh pants (not sure why they're not listed - maybe just an inopportune time to rotate in new inventory), which are the breathable MEC cycling waterproof pants - the Splash pants will get a bit moist from sweat as they aren't breathable. They're definitely roomy enough to fit lots of clothes underneath if one was so inclined, but I found the waist elastic strong and snug so they don't move.

I've been looking at getting a pair of these since they zip over my work cloths.

I first found them at REI for around $90 but they can be found cheaper online.

I have Red Ledge raingear, including full-zip pants, that I use for backpacking. They are quite nice, and somewhat breathable with excellent ventilation options, but aren't quite cut right for a bike. They do fit nicely over clothing, but the velcro leg strap doesn't wrap the cuff tight enough to stay off the chain.

Since I prefer to wear tights I wear Pearl Izumi Amfib bibs. Waterproof front and seat, breathable backside of legs. If its warm (>65F), I just get wet :D
