Beating weather .. show off your mods
Anyone have any major mods for battling crappy (read cold) weather besides standard stuff (e.g. tires, gloves, goggles) ? Thinking: adding windshields, etc. ?

I start growing my beard out in August or September every year in anticipation of cold winter weather.
|
I wear a long sleeve jersey.

I had played with the idea of getting a Zzipper fairing :
http://www.zzipper.com/ I am not sure which size I would need, not to mention the cost/benefit issues, not sure that I would get enough benefit to justify the cost. |
1.Fenders
2. Balaclava. 3. Polyester base layer. 4. 100% wool socks. 5. Studded tires. |
Nothing majour here: All pretty stock standard for cold rain and very infrequent snow...
booties wool socks microfleece base layers grow a beard maybe chemical toe warmers on 200k+ rides when it's below 35F |
How about DIY studded tires? Images link to my photoset on flickr.

Just the basics also. Fenders, Merino wool blend base layer, and wool blend socks. However this year I bought a fleece lined bandana I wear around my neck and face (I look like a old west bank robber). I find it does a better job than my neoprene face mask keeping my glasses from fogging up.
