My New Coffee Cup Holder

Well, I had to scout various bike shops before Urban Cyclist had this for sale. Great little invention and I do not understand why more shops don't carry it. The thing is VERY secure and sturdy. Holds my metal coffee thermos well.

It is an aluminum holder with an aluminum bracket. The holder has a rubber strip on the inside that holds the cup firmly.

I'll get pics with cup in holder soon.

I found one of these at our local Performance retail outlet and mounted it on my wife's cruiser bike. She loves her 'cup holder' It came with a stainless, insulated coffee cup, but she has several other ones that also fit.

Beverage of choice for her is a latte made with skim milk.

They sell this same coffee cupholder as Bell Cruisin' "Joe to Go" at Toys R Us for about $8.

I bought one and it works well.

I think that many manufacturers might still worry a bit about the liability of a rider spilling hot coffee on themselves and then blaming the "defective" design of the holder (a la McDonald's infamous lawsuit).

I did try Toys R Us, and they did not have it. Maybe it was just available to US ToysRUS's.

I bought one from Nashbar last year. It was about $11 with a discount. It is overpriced but was the cheapest I found. It is pretty cool to be able to ride with a cup of hot tea while riding.

The looks you get from motorists can be priceless when they see you enjoying a cup of coffee on the ride just as they do.
