Good Cyclometer for winter?
My Cateye fails every winter. When temps are below 30 or so the sending unit doesn't. Currently on the second sending unit. It's definitely not the battery. My guess is that the reed switch they use just can't take sub freezing temps.
What brands work in the winter?

I have a polar heart rate monitor that doubles as a cyclometer. It records everything fine but when it's really cold (like below 0 F), the lcd display doesn't function well.

It is wireless? I had a wireless computer that used to stop working every time it got below freezing. Very frustrating. I replaced it with a wired computer (which cost less) and haven't had any trouble with it for 2 winters.

Not safe for work
I have a cheap dB4L that's worked well this winter in temperatures as low as -5ºC. I can't recall how much it cost but I'm thinking about $12-15 range. It's wired and calculates speed, length of trip, max speed, average speed, and accumulated km or miles, and tells the time. So far the lcd screen's worked and other than my tendency to drop kick it when I'm re-attaching it, it won't stop working (because I want a new one )

I've had good experience with Blackburns.
The older analog wireless Delphi worked fine all winter, but was prone to interference.
The new digital wireless Neuro has been 100% trouble-free on two bikes (I have the two-bike kit) and two winters.
FWIW, the coldest it's gotten here is 2°F.

Anything that's not wireless should work fine. I've had 3 or 4 computers, ridden with them down well below zero *F, and never had a problem. IMO wireless==trouble
