Kickstand Keeps Moving

I have a 2009 Trek Soho (belt drive model) and tried to install a Pletscher Zoom kickstand. This is a single legged kickstand that has a mount almost identical to a Greenfield kickstand. Since the Soho has a kickstand mounting plate under the chainstays right behind the bottom bracket, I just used the short bolt that came with the kickstand that is for a mounting plate and bolted it to the the plate. The problem is no matter how much you tighten the bolt when you use the kickstand it will swivel at the plate mount and stick out from the chainstay and cause the crank to hit the kickstand. My other bike has a lip on the kickstand plate and that keeps the kickstand from rotating on the plate.

Does anyone know of an adapter that keeps the kickstand from moving on the mounting plate? I would really like to use this nice kickstand on this bike but as it currently mounts that is impossible. I have tried a lock washer and that did not stop the movement. Here is a link that shows the kickstand that I am trying to mount. http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/accessories/pletscher.htm Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

sounds like there may be some compatibility issues. kick stands are a pain in the butt - no question. I tried a new style this year and I'm loving it. I think I got it at Dick's Sporting Goods. It goes on the back of the bike.

Try loctite on the interface between the top of the kickstand and the mounting plate.

What about old inner tubes/gaskets jammed in for the kickstand to clamp down on?

Might some clear silicone adhesive/sealant hold it in place? Give it a couple days to dry (after mounting) before cranking on it. Both surfaces should be very clean first.

I had the same problem with a Pletscher double leg stand. I put a longer bolt on it and it worked.
Noticed on your link that Pletscher sells an adapter for this kind of problem. Not sure it will work for
you. Greenfield rear triangle stand is my favorite kick stand. Less chance of heel strike compared
to other rear triangle stands I've tried. Good luck.
