Right shoes, wrong pedals?

Has anyone else ever left the house with the correct shoes, and forgot you changed the pedals? I dropped my daughter off at school and got the bike off the rack, and ready to go, then realized I still had my road pedals on from riding this weekend. So instead of putting the bike back on the rack I decided to ride anyways with my spd clips on my Look style pedals.

Can't say I've ever done this. Got to work and forgot my clothes once.
But it sounds to me like you left the house with the 'wrong' shoes given your situation..:)

use street shoes and normal pedals. problem solved.

I purposely have SPD pedals and shoes exclusively. Therefore I can't grab the wrong shoes for the bike (road vs. hybrid commuter). That didn't stop me from riding to an even I was working at one day last year. I got there and realized that I packed a change of cloths, but forgot NORMAL shoes. I had to walk around in my cycling shoes all day... good thing they were SPD shoes.

Happy riding,
André

Never had this problem as I have Crank Brothers pedals on all my bikes. Shoes become a moot point as I can mix and match depending on what I feel like wearing.

But then I'd have the wrong pedals every day. ;)

I only have my one set of pedals, so this isn't a problem. Getting used to clipless is a bit taxing for other reasons ( foot placement, soreness in my left knee, suddenly using muscles I didn't know I had ) but at least this hasn't been an issue for me.

I fear the day I go somewhere and don't have normal shoes, though!
