I've always been a huge fan of Duluth Pack products for canoe trips and all around use. I requested/suggested they look into making panniers a few years ago and though I'm quite positive my suggestion had nothing to do with it, they just came out with a line of bicycle specific bags including a set of panniers.

I don't have a dog in the race here but I've only ever had absolutely wonderful dealings with Duluth Pack and their crew. They offer lifetime guarantee and I've never seen them "side step" their guarantee(normal wear and tear/misuse) like other companies do.

Just wanted to let everyone know and see what you all though of them. I know they're a bit spendy, but, judging by past experiences with Duluth Pack this is one of those cases where you get well more than what you pay for.

I have the Hobo bag that they made for Rivendell. That one is designed as a handlebar bag, not a saddle bag. I love it, having those 2 pockets right there, I can get snacks while riding. Thanks for the link, those panniers look pretty sweet as well!

It's not a real Duluth pack unless it's been used and abused for years on countless canoe trips.

I have a soft spot for Duluth Pack from past BWCA adventures and because I love the town. But I can't see the advantage of using canvas for bike bags unless it's mostly the look that you're after. Not so great for use in the rain.

Interesting. Canvas is good if you don't wish to purchase synthetics due to their environmental impact. That said, cotton isn't exactly clean unless it's organic. The website doesn't mention the attachment method and I can't tell from the photo.
