Quick release racks

Been searching around and have found Topeak brand of quick release racks and bags for my commute to work (specifically the Topeak beam rack, I've still got to figure the difference between the A-Type, E-Type and V-Type but that's another story)

What are some other quick release options to consider??

Things I'll have to carry are Work Clothes in the morning (with shoes) and lunch. Sometimes I'll have my laptop but I can put that on my back with a backpack. 8 mile commute

Ok.. been searching most of the night and this morning and think I've going with the V-Type Topeak rack

and the Topeak DX trunkbag

Debating needing panniers but with just a change of clothes and my lunch I don't think I'd need much more space than this for the commute to work

There aren't many other options that I've heard of, partly because the Topeak ones do the job well, and partly because they're the main "accessory brand" that's seen in most bike shops thanks to the fact that every shop probably has access to the same distributor.

I added the pannier sides to my beam rack so I could use my panniers that normally ride on my other bike's regular rack. I dig the slide-track design, too; I even got the basket for occasional use.

Probably about the only option to a quick release seatpost rack and a trunk bag is a Carradice SQR series bag, which just leaves a mounting block on the seatpost. I have the SQR Slim and quite like it. It holds my laptop, change of clothes and lunch just fine.

The difference is the offset of the arm. Look like you chose a V rack which will raise the height of the bag. You may or may not find this a problem with having to raise your leg over the bag to get on your saddle.

I do own a V rack for my FS MTB because everytime the rear suspension dip down from a bump, the tires rub the bottom of the rack. The V rack gave me more clearance to prevent that. When I used the sane rack on my front suspension bike, it placed the bag higher than the saddle and also the effort to mount on the bike was mire difficult.

Can you leave the work shoes at work? In a desk drawer or something? One less bulky item to carry each day.

I did leave a pair of shoes at work today for days when I commute on the bike. So now it's just work clothes (khaki/polo/socks, drawers etc..) and lunch.

I haven't purchased yet. I'm very indecisive but I will check out the Carradice SQR. I have all the Topeak gear saved in a wishlist on amazon so it's easy to find again and spend my money
