can't decide whether to use clipless pedals? try spd-m324s
 

Like many of you, I've gone back and forth on clipless pedals. I definitely love the extra power they give me on hills, not to mention the discipline of better foot placement. But I hate those moments where you're stopped at an intersection, and when the light turns green you fumble around trying to get that second shoe to clip in and basically limp across the road while the cars glare, honk, or worse...

these shimano pedals solve that problem. clips on one side, flat pedals on the other. they were a bit tight and hard to get into / out of when they arrived, but a quick adjustment and now they're as easy as my old set.

being able to just pedal on the flat side when I want is AMAZING. whether it's not having to clip in during the intersection, or taking a quick run on the bike in my street shoes.

Those are a nice compromise, but I honestly fumble more with my toe clips than I do with my EggBeaters.
Trouble with the eggies is hopping on the fixed-gear with street shoes....not a good combo. So I leave the track pedals on, swapping them out for eggies only for longer rides, or training rides. If I were commuting to work daily, back and forth here in NYC, I'd run the EggBeaters, but for now my Random Adventures in Unemployment are best done in street shoes.

However: I have fallen into a heap right in front of a bunch of cars at an intersection...while stopped. I must have looked like an idiot, and yeah, I'm pretty sure that was with clipless pedals. :)

I use those and love them. There are times when clipping in isn't smart and times when I'm not with my biking shoes. Then I can ride without concern on the flat side. Very helpful.

I have those on two bikes and A530s on three others. All my bikes with the exception of the Kona cruiser have SPD clipless pedals for the MTB cleats including my old 83 Colnago with original 80s Super Record gruppo as I like to be able to walk even in bike shoes. The Colnago has the A520 clipless pedals.
