Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

I do policy work for state government. I was about ready to retire when someone offered me a project that was way to interesting to ignore, so I'm still here.
My commute is about 13 miles in, and 16 home (different route).

Recently started my dream job as a marketing manager for a bike company. I currently commute from the seacoast of NH down to Boston and use my bike on either end.

I'm a database administrator for a performing arts center. Due to my most recent office move, I now get to park my bike in my office.
My background is web-development though, so I get roped into all kinds of fun IT related stuff.

If I don't do my work the inmates run the asylum. The public doesn't know or care about what we do. If one gets out we hear plenty though. Wing Nut

There's definitely both ends in the bike commuting world. I saw a stat recently that the average bike commuter in my province earns $90k. It was in a pretty reputable lefty magazine, but I don't know the origin of the stat beyond that. Still, I did find it interesting. Of course, regardless of origin, there's a lot of invisible people who commute to such jobs as bottle picking, and wouldn't be reliably caught by any survey.

Railroad switch and signal maintainer. Before that I was a variable-speed drive technician working on controls for large electric motors for over 20 years. But I got bored and wanted to work outside in a job that has lots of walking. This gig is pretty good and I may ride it to the end. We'll see how it goes if/when the economy improves and things open up a little more. I ride from north to south Seattle most days unless it's raining too hard, in which case I take the bus and train.

Doctor - MD and PhD.
About to make real money, but it's taken 15 years of training non-stop with no breaks after college, pedal to the metal, to get here.
The jump from a "trainee" to an "attending" in my field is huge - and a big problem in our field. The trainees get dumped on for lower-than-minimum-wage when you count all the hours worked, for years, despite their great qualifications in a highly competitive field. Then you become an attending and get 10x your previous income - if you have the luxury of going into a competitive specialty.
And we wonder why we have a crisis in lack of primary care doctors in the US when you're graduating people with $300k of medical school debt and asking them to go into a primary care field where you're compensated $120k/year despite 6 years of highly competitive postgrad training.

Owner/President of small (40-50 emps) metal fabricator and boiler repair business. Basically we make pressure vessels for the power industry and also perform maintenance of industrial and utility boilers. Always amazed at the number of people who don't know where their electric power comes from but like to beat the living crap out of the industry.

I disagree, money is only one factor. For people represented here, you also have to figure that they have to get access to a computer and feel that bicycling is an important enough part of their life that they need to go find other bicycle commuters to hang around with. My commute doesn't take me through the tonier parts of town, so many of the commuters I see look like they are going to factory jobs and may get a car if they can afford one. It's not part of them, just how they get to work.
And then I look at myself. Some of the jobs I have bike commuted to include... Night Desk at a convention center, Lamp Sander, Shipping Clerk, Pallet Loader, Hardware store clerk, Pizza Maker, Box Carrier, Guided Missile Technician, Camera Technician, Graphic Artist, Technical Illustrator, Programmer, Animator. Like most people, any particular job doesn't define me.

I'm a graphic designer, mostly working on packaging, but I'm also back in school studying biochem to get into public health or pharmacology.
