New Rack
Not being a big pannier fan, just wondering what folk thought of this?

It looks oddly sized and excessively expensive for a basic rack, unless you specifically need a rack that clamps in place like that.

I can see where it could be useful but, I would want to see one up close and personal, before I would throw that kind of money for it. I have some initial concerns regarding strength.

Interesting. It'd focus a lot of force on the fork or seatstays; the nice thing with a regular rack is that it puts support down on the dropouts, right next to the axles. Still, it's an innovative take for sure, and not more expensive than high-end racks like Old Man Mountain and Tubus. I'll be curious to see what reviews in the field say about it.

It seems like the selling points of this over traditional rack is that it will work on full suspension bikes and bikes without rack mounting holes.
It may also be lighter than a traditional rack. But if you were smart enough ;) to buy a bike with a hard tail and rack mounting holes, there doesn't seem to be any reason to go this route. |
