Brooks B66/7
Trying to decide on a Brooks for my new Torker Graduate. I'm having riser stem and bars put on the bike to get an even more upright posture than it already has and so definitely looking at a sprung saddle.
The bike comes with an old-fashioned tapered seatpost and clamp, which suggests the B66. But for basically the same cost, one could switch to a newer-style micro-adjust seatpost and go with the B67. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

I'm pondering similar issues while deciding on a Brooks. The original mattress saddle is falling apart on my '75 Raleigh Sprite and needs replacing.
The issues I have are that the mattress currently installed is on dual rails attached to a clamp to an old-fashioned seat post. A simple replacement of saddles would necessitate using the B66. However, I consider the Brooks saddle to be a long term investment, possibly outlasting this bike. So maybe I'd be better off buying a B67 and a single rail clamp to go on the current post. I'm also leaning towards the Aged edition, which only seems to come in the B67. So pay attention to the rails. Though, I have seen ways of attaching dual rails to micro-adjust posts using a sandwich plate. |
1) Congratulations on the Graduate. Nice bike.
2) Welcome to the forum! 3) Good call on the Brooks; you're going to love it. Make sure you order a tin of Proofide to go with it; it will speed the break-in and protect it against moisture. |
