There are many factors that contribute to an uncomfortable ride (can you be more specific), and tire width is just one of them. 28s are usually quite comfortable. Have you been fitted and your bike adjusted accordingly? Seat? Are you maxing out your tire psi? (lowering the pressure to 80% max may help).

roads here are not really good, thats why it is uncomfortable. i even feel the vibration on my wrists and have a feeling that that may get broken if i hit a small bump. the other factor is therefore the aluminium chasis, but as i cannot change that ..

how much do you weigh?

what psi do you have your tires at?

Wait, let me guess...the fork is aluminum too. You might get better bang (and less road buzz) for your buck buying a $50 cromo fork.

How much room do you currently have between your tires and your frame/brakes? Maybe you can go up to 32s...
