That darn old first amendment. Everyone likes it until the other side has their say. Then it's a bad thing. Then you ask for the fairness doctrine when your side is exponentially losing to the other side. Another vote for an update.

I spent time time working on it. I did a complete overhaul; new grease, new tires, bar tape, new seat, chain, touch up paint etc.. For a total of about $130.00 I feel like it has been a pretty good deal.

People used to try to scare me into buying a car - safety - that's changed though as the weather's gotten nicer. As I get on my bike, they often say "what a great idea."

roger that. had it happen in a restaurant. waitress was much older than i and nigh on to had a seizure when she saw my helmet. 'you're riding a motorcycle? you should never ride a m/c, they're dangerous, unsafe...' she went on and on. total bummer. every time she went by the table she'd start in. i finally told her i was riding a bicycle, not a motorbike. she paused, then started in- 'you should never ride a bicycle, etc'. there is really nothing you can say that will change them. next time i was in, she wasn't. i casually asked another waitress about her and was told she was no longer working there. |

Tell your co-worker about my wife. She rides with me 18.5 miles into work, gives me a kiss in the parking garage, then rides 18.5 miles back home - alone - in rush hour traffic. I love the look on my co-workers face when they ask me who the chick was they saw arriving with me at the parking garage, and I tell them that is my wife. This conversation has occurred several times: "Oh, so... does she work around here?" "No, she rides back home." "All the way back to St Pete?" "Yeah" And then their brow crinkles up and their eyes go vacant as they are mentally trying to grasp the enormity of it. They finally give up, shake their head, and walk away. does she have a like-minded sister? |

Did you inherit any of that healing ability? my aging granny was terrified of dying in her sleep, and of dying in a hospital. she did both. no-one gets out alive (whoops, a jim moorison book?) |
