No, not the commuting club, I've been doing that for a couple years now. A much worse club, the "Crazy SoB rear-ended me and fled leaving my lying in the street!" club. I'm fine, no injuries more serious than some scrapes and bruises.
Short summary:
I was headed home from work in heavy rain (it started about half-way home). I had my headlight (Fenix L1D) and my blinkie (PB Superflash) on. I was getting ready to turn left into my apartment complex. I had worked my way out almost all the way to the center stripe. I signaled (hand signals*) a turn slowed to turn and the next thing I knew I was rolling off some dude's hood. I slid on the (Very wet) pavement on my back a little bit and got scraped up. The driver floored it and fled the scene, and NONE of the other drivers on the road at the time even bothered to slow down. I was able to get up and walk home, though. I didn't break or sprain anything (that I know of, no lingering pains, just scrapes and bruises). I called the cops and filed a report, but I don't expect anything to come of it. The damage, fortunately, was limited to a totaled rear wheel (>2000 miles on it, so not even the hub was worth saving) and a demolished blinkie.
*) Seems that drivers have no idea what hand signals mean anymore, I get cut-off pretty much every time I signal a turn.
Here is a picture of the wreckage. (you can see my kitty Zoot surveying the mess, he loves to rub against my bike for some reason)

Yikes, did you call the cops and report this? Glad you're OK, (and Zoot too, one of my cats likes to rub against my bike tomark it as part of her territory).

I did call the cops, but I couldn't get a plate number, and nobody else who saw it bothered to even slow down, much less stop. So, I doubt they got a plate number, or even cared.

Good on you for making it out with just a scrape or two. I hope the driver gets caught due to someone coming forth. It really irks me how others can be a witness to something and pass on by as if they saw nothing. People can get on my nerves, a lot.

What the hell is wrong with those people that they didn't stop to check on you? Shameful.
I'm really glad you're all right. Is there a way to insure your bike to cover things like this? Or maybe it's already covered under a home insurance policy? Hope it gets sorted out without too much trouble.
I found a link... https://www.zifflaw.com/NYBikeAcciden...own-insurance/ But it applies to cyclists who have auto insurance (and is from NY so may not be accurate for other states).

Our society has become so litigious: people are afraid of getting caught in long legal procedures or even being sued for helping.
Our society has become too busy, people are economically enslaved and so tangled up with work just to make ends meet that they're always in a hurry, have little times for themselves and that makes them irrational and careless.
Lucky, Jeremy was OK. Too bad he wasn't able to get the *******'s license plates.

Glad to hear you are relatively okay. The only thing wrong with karma is that you are never around to witness what happens to the idiot. Good thing you filed a police report. Even if you didn't get the license number did you get the make, model, time, and day it occurred?

Wow, that is one serious hit. Glad you're ok. I doubt I would have been able to get off with just some scrape and bruise if that happen to me. One thing I decided was to run double rear blinkie and double front light. I figure if I ever get hit and one set of light get destroy in the process, hopefully the second set of light will survive the collision and give warning to motorist of my presence if I was unable to get up.
What bugs me most is that here in CA, I think the law say that those motorist suppose to assist if possible. The least they have to do is to be sure of your well being.

I'm afraid not. All got was that it was a maroon hood (burgundy?) that I was rolling off of. I got the time of day, roughly, too.

In the right lane
JeremyLC... glad it was only the wheel that saw damage. Those are replaceable.
I spent a long while perfecting my left turning skills and think I am pretty good at it.
A recent evolution is that I am trying to figure out when is a good time to bail, turn right and cross the street as a pedestrian...

There's a good chance the driver could be a regular commuter at that time of day. I'd consider having myself or a friend stake out the intersection at the same time for a few days, watching for any maroon cars with dented hoods and scuffed front bumpers. I know if it were me I'd really like to catch him/her.

Here's a map
MAP
I was approximately at the intersection of Unique and Medlin, going south on Medlin, turning east onto Unique. I started moving over almost as soon as I turned off of Arkansas (I was going west on Arkansas) because it was raining quite heavily. The street was empty for a good part of the distance, but apparently the car came in from one of the streets behind me.
