What I would like to know though is what makes REload $100 better than Chrome. I took a look at their website and you can't tell by the pics.

chrome's strap system is a pos compared to reload. reload's are built way tougher. reload's are custom made. much better quality bag all around.

Cars of course have thousands of moving parts while a messenger bag has...maybe 5? It's the same basic form factor. Fundamentally, one strap will be more uncomfortable than two, there's simply no way around it. It makes sense if you have to swing your bag around all the time, like a mail carrier or a ... bike messenger... but for the rest of us it makes no sense at all.

Assymetry is neat-looking though, that I will say. Thus, it's all about fashion.

p.s. REload or gtfo.

So, would freight baggage, Seagull, and Courierware fit into your pecking order?

I am not going to go so far as to say that Messenger Bags 'suck', but they are not for me. In the summer months I am frequently riding home in temperatures in excess of 100 degrees. The last thing I want is something hanging against me holding in more heat. I never found any kind of bag I liked until I got a rear rack and attached a bag to it. For me it doesn't really matter what it is, just so long as it isn't hanging off of me.

Does that mean 2 straps are more uncomfortable than 10? How many straps do you have on that state-sponsored fashionable jacket?

Messenger bags make a lot of sense for the rest of us, yourself included in certain cases. Why so critical of people's bag choice. Maybe if you stopped trying to put a square peg in a round hole with your baggage choices you'd be happier.

freight and seagull would, courierware wouldn't.

WTF are you talking about? Of course it's the same form factor... it's a bag. It's the details that matter.
One strap would be more uncomfortable than two? I find one strap very comfortable... and the bag stays put... because it was designed correctly, unlike your $20 bag.
Asymmetry of what?

Again, no idea of what you speak.

What is it that's better about the reload strap?
What's better about the reload being custom made vs just made in san francisco? If I don't need anything special/specific would that matter to me?
What is better about the quality? Stitching? Materials? Specifics would be great.

Sorry about all the questions... just some things to keep in mind for my future bag purchases.

I love this ...

Again.. YOU'RE WRONG... It's not for you sure, but it's not about fashion. Just don't get one, problem solved.
