Hook, line and sinker
Rolling along in thick traffic this afternoon, I fell prey to a classic right-hook. I was obviously in her blind spot, but if she had only indicated then I would have happily slowed. As it was, all went into slow-motion - just like the time I was actually hit - and I managed to turn with her, fending the car off with my left arm against the window, and wobbling and somehow staying upright, and worrying about what a mess I'd be if I went down here. Driver gave me an exceedingly sheepish and relieved look as she went past me after we'd disentangled; I was still too zoned-out to respond. I'm happy to have avoided injury and loss. Beware the right-hook!

Crazy. Kudos on the window-check maneuver.

Good riding, Yarb.
Yes, the driver's giving a signal would help -- but signals are rare, anymore. |

But not a stop and an appology. TYPICAL!!! |
Signals? Cars still come equipped with those?

Oh dear, happened to me the Friday before last. Same situation, probably in a blind spot, but she didn't signal. We were moving a bit faster I think, because though I tried to not fall, and turn with her, I ended up flying over the bars anyway. 5 stitches in my chin. I'm glad you're okay, be more careful! No more being next to cars going through intersections for me.
