Predictable silliness from drivers
Riding on Central Park West (NYC, obviously) in the right lane, heading downtown, I pull even with a big rig (what it's doing on CPW I couldn't tell you) in the left lane, going uphill. As there's little option but to take the lane there, this means that speedier car traffic behind immediately builds. The rig was gaining speed when things flattened out quickly and would soon pass me but I prepared myself for the inevitable. It's not like I had anywhere to go or pull over. Drivers did not disappoint: honking at me (remind me which vehicle occupied more of the road and was in the left lane?), a couple floored it to get through the small gap that opened, but the best was saved for last. From the passenger side door a head and arm appear to yell at me and point at the bike lane. The one on the other side of the double yellow. That goes the other direction. Unintended comedy at its best. My reply was a simple "WRONG DIRECTION". That's all I could say as the driver then floored it too.
Edit: To be clear, there's only a bike lane in one direction on CPW. I wasn't going that way.
