Fenders for tires that don't take fenders?

You know, like REALLY won't take fenders. I have an 80's Specialized Sirrus, one of the really race oriented ones. I may buy a different commuter in the future, but I'm making do with what I have now.

So what I mean by doesn't take fenders is that it has no clearance whatsoever. I BARELY fit some 25's into the forks and the story is the same in the rear. Is there a fender that doesn't have to run between the tire and inside of the fork?

I do have a rack on the back, so I already have a semi-fender back there, but a front fender could prove to be beneficial in any sort of wet conditions.

sometimes you're just doomed to a change of clothing and a more frequent cleaning/degreasing schedule...

Wow, thanks for the link, tsl! Those look perfect. I'll have to put them on my list.

What actual fender are you using, though? I suppose I could use anything, but yours look interesting.

I ordered a set of the Crud Roadracer MK2 from England a few days ago. Once I get them I'll be happy to report how they perform.

If you are hunting for them be careful, the few places on the states that carried the RoadRacer only had the older (smaller) version. The MK2 are full size.

Sorry, not my pic. I should have stated so in that post. It came up when I googled "fender reacharound".

Planet Bike Speed EZ Fender

SKS Race Blade

The other ones mentioned probably give you more coverage, but also require more installation.

I was thinking I should mention that the more common usage of that word is NSFW -- too late. For anyone that just has to know, the Urban dictionary is your NSFW friend.

I swear the only reason I know the meaning of it is perfectly innocent, albeit not repeatable here either.

A friend of mine just had the LBS put some SKS P-35 fenders on his Litespeed Tuscany using those Reacharound gadgets. They work great.
