I wear Phillies and Flyers shirts in Mets/ Yankees and Islanders/Rangers country... not while cycling though. However I'm 6'2" and still 300+ lbs, so very few actually have a problem with it...

I stopped wearing confrontational t-shirts when I became an adult. However, I also stopped harassing people who still enjoy wearing them too. Adulthood comes with a lot of responsibilities. Blaming people that are HARASSED by others merely for exercising their right to wear what they want is like blaming a **** victim for dressing sexy at the bar.

I took 1 ride in a bright yellow cotton tee shirt that said "volunteer" in red letters on the back and had the American Cancer Society logo in big print across the front. I figured that should generate some good will, but quickly found out why people don't ride in cotton tee shirts.
+1.
I cannot stand wearing clothing that has any sort of text or manufacturer's logo on it. All it says to me is "I'm so lame that I choose to be a billboard for someone else."
That goes for cycling clothes, too. I would *never* wear anything with a team/sponsor/etc. logo on it, unless it was my own. Why would anyone want to advertise for a company that has no interest in you?

I rarely ride in a t-shirt because I like plain long sleeve shirts. I don't pay attention to what words others are wearing on their backs or chests because people wear whatever they have and may get paid to wear such shirts.

I don't wear message t-shirts. Most of the ones I have are blank except for a few picked up on organised rides. I don't have any jerseys with advertising or supporting a team. I wouldn't make a good NASCAR fan.

I never wear t-shirts with advertising, but I do like interesting t-shirts.
I got 9 printed up recently, 5 with Yahuda Moon comics, 4 with XKCD comics.
I like what they say.
I guess I havent grow up yet, I am still growning.

I rather like the idea of a bright neon jacket/vest with the word "OFFICIAL" printed on the back.

I wear one of these:

Fellow pilots get it and laugh. Other people give me the stink-eye sometimes.

You make a good point. But, some of us take more risks than others.. Maybe we like living on the edge.? As for me. Look at the photo on my avatar. that is one of my favorite jerseys.. Other T Shirts I own, I suggest you not wear through a TSA airport security check..

I remember that study that came out a few years ago that said people who drive cars with bumper stickers are more aggressive than other drivers, even the peace and love type stickers. Not sure how great a study it was.

I don't have any shirts that taunt.
Well, maybe one. A brilliant orange shirt that the wife got me. One of my favorites.
Emblazoned across the front it says:
RETIRED:
LEAVE ME ALONE

I just had to clean up a bunch of nasty posts. Let's stop the name calling and accusations and stick to talking about t-shirts.
FIY, the forum guidelines are here if anyone needs to review them again.

The Drive Side is Within
At this very moment, I'm wearing a yellow "YARD MAN" tractor T-Shirt with a depiction of a "YARD MAN" tractor running over a John Deere- ish deer. On the back is the slogan "POWER TO PERFORM." I like to think that women everywhere think of my power and performance when they view me in this awesome T-Shirt, as they bask it its utter threadbare awesomeness.
If it were in a better fabric for riding, I'd wear it all the time.
I still like my "Bush is Sauron / save the shire" shirt, too.

I always wanted to have some t-shirts printed on the back something like:
"Riding to work" or "Riding home from work" or "riding instead of driving". At first thought it doesn't seem to be confrontational. These days who knows? People get mad at just about anything.
This became my final decision-
