Was looking at the colt.

Just going to get another b17. Every time I put it back on I realize how nice it is. Can't go wrong with another.

I think the bad rails on the team pro is a sign from the bike gods to avoid them.

The bike gods work in mysterious ways.

any use a titanium b17? I'm wondering if the ride feel is any different than the steel rails...or if the ti rails are as durable/strong as steel.

That's how I got my Brooks Pro for $5. I worked at a Peugeot/Nishiki dealership, and the boss bought himself a new PX-10 and gave up on the saddle after a week.

My Brooks Pro is 42 years old and probably has close to 50k miles on it.

My current saddles: Team Pro on mountain bike, Pro on 1959 Capo, Serfas ARC on Bianchi, and slotted Serfas (don't know the model name) on the Peugeot. All four (two old school and two of newer design) seem to serve me quite well.

Yup, I have both and much prefer the b17. I tried to get used to the pro as i prefer the look of it, and mine has the copper rivets too, but its simply not as comfy for me. the B17 though i don't even feel, its that good for me. I don;t find either too hard, but the shape of the pro is just not as nice for my ass... and wow, this thread is older than me

All this stuff about oil soaking and what have you is bunk. Don't do it. You will ruin your saddle.

In my experience 8 out of 10 times the problem is the fit. The other 2 times it's just not the right saddle for you.

Personally, I am good on a B-17, a Pro or a B-17N (which is actually more narrow than a Pro). They are comfortable right away--when set up properly. They don't need to be "broken in".

I am a newbie so please bear with me. I currently have a B17 standard that I have on a Salsa Marrakesh touring bike. I recently purchased a Salsa road bike, I hated the saddle that was on it so I put the B17 standard on it. Feels great, just curious how much narrower the B17 narrow is? Does anyone know? Just thinking that the narrow might be better for the posture on the road bike,.
