What next.. goofy little rainbows?

These new thread icons are just.....wrong. :P

531phile 11-22-10 09:29 PM

hERE's my impression:

red lighter: thread is blazing meaning people are really high or thread is active, am I right?
grey lighter: thread is inactive, people are not so high
cycling icon with plus: spinergy training wheels (dont' know what that means, just looks like spinergy training wheels to me)
cycling icon without plus: again dont' know what that means

These icons are confusing. Someone sleep through information design 101

CCrew 11-22-10 09:33 PM

The explanations don't make them less ghey :)

MijnWraak 11-22-10 09:39 PM

Gay isn't a word to describe something bad. It is used to describe a *****exual.

Flamboyant is a better alternative.

Agreed.. And edited to reflect.

CCrew is actually correct in his use of "ghey."

Ghey when the "GH" spelling indicates something that is lame and is not an attempt to categorize a person's sexual orientation.

It comes down to its use in slang. A subtle difference similar to using "teh" instead of "the"

MijnWraak 11-22-10 10:31 PM

Didn't mean to be all politically correct, just didn't want any negatives vibes going around

Then use "lame" *shrug*

gitarzan 11-22-10 10:37 PM

They don't display in Google Chrome, FWIW. And I hope they don't fix it.

531phile 11-22-10 10:49 PM

This thread is so *****exual

Is that why your cat is winking at us?

Greyryder 11-23-10 01:49 AM

In before double rainbow.

CB HI 11-23-10 02:35 AM

The new cycling icon looks like some part of a Geico insurance ad.

Wouldn't those "hot" icons be more appropriate if they were affixed to threads in which something or somebody got flamed?

katcorot 11-23-10 05:31 AM

The new symbols are strange Yes, but they could catch on.

The MAIN thing that bugs me is the maximum width of page seems to be unlimited now even for
standard paragraph text. Making most post hard to read.

So far I have not found a single problem. Make sure you hit the report icon if you run accross something. I hate it when stuff gets fixed that aint broke.

AdamDZ 11-23-10 06:00 AM

My complaint is that the flames are too large, to bright and too distracting. It's overdone.

Siu Blue Wind 11-23-10 06:32 AM

We can always revert back to the other other upgrade....

I can see them, and I'm using Chrome.

RT 11-23-10 08:20 AM

1. Read title of thread.
2. Ignore icon to the left unless you are distracted by small and/or shiny objects.
3. Continue to post relevant jocular or sarcastic comment.
4. Exit thread.

Geez, it's not like we woke up one morning with the sun rising in the west.

AdamDZ 11-23-10 08:23 AM

Post your feedback in this thread.

IR Baboon 11-23-10 10:05 AM

I want the sun to come up in the West. After all these years we could use a change or two.
