Waterford vs. Gunnar

I am curious if anyone knows the skinny on the relationship between these two companies. They have the same address in Wisconsin so clearly they are pretty tight. Am I right to assume that Gunnar provides more affordable versions, with some unique stuff too, of the Waterford brand? What are some of the reasons one might choose a Gunnar over a Waterford or vise versa?

Waterford are custom-made, Gunnar frames are built to stock sizes.

Either way, aren't they both made in the Waterford plant?

Same company, Owned by Richard Schwinn.

Gunner is the more affordable line, both stock sizes and custom geometry is available.
Waterford offers more options, including lugged frames. Waterford also provides a wider range of finishes and colors than Gunner.

Yes. Gunnar, you better like TIG welded frame; Waterford, you can get lugs if you want.

Thanks for the input. So did Waterford create Gunnar because they didn't want to dilute their brand name, but did want to reach out to a larger market that was interested in more affordable high quality frames? Does that sound right?
