Wool bargains

So I went to the local surplus store, had a terrible ride through traffic hour with no shoulder clearance for me. So I was forced to ride on the sidewalk most of the way, which was a narrow obstacle course in itself! BUT it was worth it after finding a few good buys at the surplus store.
1. pair of wool socks. 50% wool, 20% nylon, and 30% cotton. $3 hopefully these socks will be better at preventing foot odor than my current sweat-wicking Wal-mart buy's. I'll be getting more of these if I like them.
2. pair of wool gloves 70% wool, 30% nylon. $4 I can wear these on especially cold mornings and nights instead of my warm weather bike gloves with the fingers cut off.
3. wool jeep cap 100% wool, $8 (looks like this

The wool might not be fine merino wool, it may itch a little but I still think it's a hell of a bargain at $15 for all three.

I haunt the Good Wills and other thrift stores. I scored big at the one in Lancaster, PA. Spent ~$30 and got two merino wool sweaters and 6 pairs of heavy weight wool slacks. Two pair fit as is, the others will get converted to knickers or plus fours. One pair feels like boiled wool awesome stuff for winter riding.

Webshots is bailing out, if you find any of my posts with corrupt picture files and want to see them corrected please let me know. :(
