New Orleans
I'm taking a trip to New Orleans next week for a few days and wanted to take my bike to get in some training miles in the warm weather. Only problem is, I don't have a clue as to the best routes to ride, mainly to avoid traffic. I was hoping some of you that ride there every day could point me in the right direction. I'm staying at a hotel on Royal St. in the French Quarter and looking to ride at least 2 hours at a time. Thanks for your help.

ride towards uptown on St Charles until you get to the levee. ride down the levee towards the Huey P Long Bridge or further. turn around and ride back.

WE rode Cycle Zydeco last year (that's over by Lafayette) . Sweet people, sweet weather, excellent food, awesome dancing/music... but the roads were a bit rough. The Crescent City might be different.

There is a nice trail from Mandeville to Abita Springs if you feel like going to the North Shore. You can have a good beer in while in Abita Springs. Don't think about crossing the lake on a bicycle!
