Owner of Linco framing here in the beautiful 909 came up fast and close behind keithquatch and me and yelled "you're gonna get killed!" This was after we took the lane on a very wide, very dark, 2 lane road with a few hundred lumens facing forward and a few rear taillights blinking. I thought to myself, "yeah, if idiots like you keep not paying attention to the road."

Not quite fitting in the topic, but I'm fairly sure I either got shot with a water gun, or spit on. I keep hoping its the former.

Nothing particularly interesting that I have had yelled at me, though I have told salmon they were going the wrong way a couple of times, while riding my bike. I have thought about yelling the same to salmon or the appropriate to ninjas when driving, but I don't like it when drivers yell at me so I don't. The first time I called to a salmon I more yelled than spoke, with him right beside me. Not the best, but I was a bit annoyed with him for riding that way. The other time of note I was taking the lane (12' lane, 3' shoulder, 1.5" dropoff, 4' evenly rough paved shoulder) and passed a salmon on the 4' shoulder (glad I wasn't on the bad shoulder then!) and said something very similar to "did you know you're going the wrong way?" as I passed. No real annoyance for me that time because we were on thoroughly different paths of travel.

I was riding about 10 feet to the right of a SUV stopped at an ATM. Just as I got into their blind spot, I saw the wheels turn hard right and start to roll. Ok, it LOOKS like they (she) is going to whip out of there in a hard right U turn. I yell HEY to get them to look around.

After I pass, giving a wide(r) berth, she rolls down the window and yells "Watch where you're going!"

Huh?? I WAS watching, not only where I was going, but where YOU were going. I SAW her, she didnt see me (and didnt seem to look), but _I_ need to watch where I'm going???? Amazing.

Doesnt compare with some here, but pretty darn stupid.

I was riding in the right hand through lane of three lanes of traffic when a car pulled up to my right, in the Right Turn Only lane. As he matched my pace, the driver looked at me through his open window, and said "You know, there is other ways of gettin' there." ?!?

Punk with a flat-brimmed hat: "Get on the sidewalk!" (nothing but gravel where there might have been a sidewalk).

About 10 seconds later I pass them on the right at a light - the car is stopped in the left lane and the punk has gotten out of the car and is adjusting his sagging pants with traffic backed up behind them. I couldn't think of a comeback, it was just too wierd.

I used to carry around a hand-held CB clipped to my camel-bak straps while riding, and I would listen to the truckers while I was doing some short touring, "Look out for the bike going southbound here on Highway 150." Lol. Other than this eavesdropping, all I have heard from passersby is the standard, "Get on the sidewalk," "Get off the road," and "Go, Lance Armstrong!"

This isn't a dumb thing yelled at me but a dumb response. I was nearly home when a van passed me pretty close and someone rolled down the window and yelled something indecipherable at me. So i yelled back, SHUT UP!!! I figured it was the typical high school kids trying to be obnoxious.

When i got home, my 9 year old was almost in tears because he was just trying to say hello daddy and wasn't sure why I got upset.

While slowly grinding up the 10% gradient into one of those Italian hill towns, a little old lady who was sweeping her balcony shouted out at me, "Better to just get off and walk!" in Italian, of course. Since my Italian is bad, I just smiled, waved and continued. Translating took a while, but it took my mind off the climb.

Had just pulled off the road up to a bike rack on the sidewalk. And was in the process of removing my thick gloves. When a couple guys walking by yelled at me for my rear light (PB Superflash) still being on and I'm risking people with eptilexy (sp?) harm...

As much as what they claim could have it's effects. People have to accept the fact they may endure complications with they're condition apon leaving the controled space of they're home.

....My normal routine after getting thick gloves off is turning of said lights anyways...

I've had guys yell out "Narc!" a few days in a row in this one residential area (it's not really in the best part of town). I guess it may have been my dark blue windbreaker, and my white helmet with a red light mounted to it. lol.

Had my first rude encounter with a motorist about a week ago.

I was riding home at night, in the dark, windy, pouring buckets of rain, about 38 degrees f. Lit up like a Christmas tree as usual and in the generous bike lane that is the shoulder of state route 20.
Some guy passes me at about 50 mph, hangs his head out the window and yells " RETAAAAARD!!"
For some reason this struck me as pretty funny and I ended up laughing so hard I almost fell off the bike.
