Thanks to Everyone... and Wish Me Luck!

To my fellow commuters,

As I embark on the final (for now) leg of my education, I must take a hiatus from my regular posting on Bike Forums. I am studying to be a Respiratory Therapist and I return to my placement in a local hospital on Wednesday. My focus needs to be on my studies, so I will only be checking in from time to time if I have specific questions that require the experience and knowledge of my commuting brethren and sistren (yes, that's a word... I checked). My placement runs until April and I have to get through two major exams, plus write a national registry exam in June to become a Registered RT in Canada.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who responded to my threads and posts. You have been very helpful in helping me choose both my last bike and countless accessories (and in lightening my wallet). All of the advice that I've received and the posts I've read have helped me to become a more efficient and determined bicycle commuter. I've laughed as members have joked and shared humorous stories, shaken my head over the petty bickering, and marveled at the accomplishments and ingenuity of my fellow cyclists.

While I have participated in other sub-forums, I have gleaned the most from this one, and I look forward to being able to return here later this year to recount my commuting experiences. Thanks again for all the helpful advice, and I sincerely hope that along the way something I shared may have helped someone else make an informed decision regarding their commuting needs.

I hope to see you all again in the Summer. Ride safe! :ride:

I should have my Surly LHT bought and built up by the time you're back.

As a CPAP user, I appreciate the work of people in your field! :)

Will join others in wishing you all the best in your studies and subsequent exams. And cistern is a word as well. I looked it up. :p

Good luck irclean, your insight is always welcome.

<By the way...if you're not going to be riding so much can I have your bike now? I'll ride it a lot and take good care of it ;-)>

Anyways I know how addictive this place can be so chime in every now and then.

I've really enjoyed your input and our shared adventures as early belt drive adopters.

Good luck irclean. Best wishes to you toward achieving your goal. Don't be a stranger and for too long and come back to say "Hi".

Update

Well... I graduated! Now comes the hard part... securing gainful employment. I ended up poking my nose into BF a lot more that I had intended to when I first posted this thread. It would seem that it's a bit of an addiction for me. :o Maybe I need to find a support group for chronic posters. I posted countless times since I wrote my final exam on Tuesday; it's like I was making up for lost time!

Anyway, it's good to be out of my study cave. Hopefully we'll get some nice weather here soon so I can start adding some recreational rides to my commuting miles. :thumb:
