I have a max limit of £200. I will be off roading / road riding to walk. I want something which is durable.

Your question has a lot of room for interpretation. You've got to define you parameters for "good" or else you'll get answers all across the board.

I didn't know they still made 7 speed hubs, i would try and look for a better used, then again i have no knowledge of the bike business over in your parts

My initial thoughts - look elsewhere. That bike has alot of features that attempt to emulate a higher end mountain bike (disc brakes, suspension fork) that ultimately rob possible quality from other components within a tight price bracket.

Perhaps some of our UK folks can provide some leads on alternative sources for bikes.

My advice would be to look for a 1990's mountain bike with a rigid fork (no suspension). You'd have a durable bike that would do fine both on and off road.

Some specifcs of your commute may also help. Total distance, how much off/on road, terrain? (hilly, flat, how rugged is the off road portion, etc)

If you do not have to contend with major hills or technical offroad terrain, something like this would be far better suited (IMO) to commuting duty and should be much easier to maintain : http://www.all-about-the-bike.co.uk/...ery-2545-p.asp

That could be an ok bike (depending on your expectations), but I would at least pick one of the bikes that had v-brakes instead of the disc brakes from that site. Its rare to find someone thats happy with their cheap disc brakes. 7-speed freewheels are pretty common for the entry level bike in some maker's line including the Trek 820 and its ok for the price.

What type of off road riding are you doing? If its nothing too serious the hybrids without the suspension forks on that site are a better value in my opinion even though I personally generally like 26 inch wheeled bikes, but not everyone does obviously.
