And is it really illegal for cars to enter a crosswalk? Is there no right on a red at the intersection?
Also, this is a fairly common practice here, as I see many other cyclists run up onto the sidewalk at this point just like I do.
At this particular area, I could. However, to do so means entering the flow of traffic(bicycle lane ends), and then abruptly stopping in the traffic lane to jump up onto the curb(I can't bunny hop) and proceed up to the station.
If that alternative way is not very convenient -- hell, use the crosswalk and the sidewalk. Just do it safely and don't whine about the fact that being an idiot about it makes it a dangerous activity. There is nothing in the law or the common sense that entitles you to use those pedestrian-oriented facilities at 25 mph.

You are operating a vehicle too. And you're not supposed to use the crosswalk when operating a vehicle. Especially at 25 mph. I suggest you pull the log out of your own eye first. (Even if you're allowed to use it, you're supposed to use it in a manner that is safe for pedestrians. 25 mph is not -- and you can't always see that the crosswalk has no pedestrians, especially if a car that pulled into the crosswalk is blocking your view.)

So what? Clearly it's also a common practice for drivers to pull up and stop in the crosswalk, as you see many drivers do that all the time.
Really? So a car driver has no way of getting to the station other than driving over a curb? Surely there is a way to get to the station without entering a sidewalk?

I never said that it is illegal for a motor vehicle to enter the crosswalk. However, you will fail a driving test if you stop IN a crosswalk, without stopping BEFORE the crosswalk. As such, a motor vehicle that does not stop before the crosswalk is in violation of the law.
And if I had stated that I use the crosswalk at 2mph, you'd be ok with that, and the cars not stopping where they should, blocking the path to the sidewalk?
As I said above, Littleton does not prohibit the use of bicycles in crosswalks or sidewalks. Colorado law:
A person riding a bicycle or electrical assisted bicycle upon and along a sidewalk or pathway or across a roadway upon and along a crosswalk shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before overtaking and passing such pedestrian. A person riding a bicycle in a crosswalk shall do so in a manner that is safe for pedestrians.
A person shall not ride a bicycle or electrical assisted bicycle upon and along a sidewalk or pathway or across a roadway upon and along a crosswalk where such use of bicycles or electrical assisted bicycles is prohibited by official traffic control devices or local ordinances. A person riding a bicycle or electrical assisted bicycle shall dismount before entering any crosswalk where required by official traffic control devices or local ordinances.
A person riding or walking a bicycle or electrical assisted bicycle upon and along a sidewalk or pathway or across a roadway upon and along a crosswalk shall have all the rights and duties applicable to a pedestrian under the same circumstances, including, but not limited to, the rights and duties granted and required by section 42-4-802.
A person shall not ride a bicycle or electrical assisted bicycle upon and along a sidewalk or pathway or across a roadway upon and along a crosswalk where such use of bicycles or electrical assisted bicycles is prohibited by official traffic control devices or local ordinances. I would pull into the bike lane across the intersection as others have suggested and lift over the curb.

He's looking at the intersection of Mineral and Jackass Hill Rd.
It would be rather annoying to cross Santa Fe, pull into the parking lot and go back over Santa Fe via the pedestrian bridge.

That said, you could argue that I am traveling too fast for the safety of a pedestrian. But this is no argument for an interaction with a motor vehicle.
