Bicycle turn indicators ?

Hello All,

Did anyone try the "Safe Turn" indicators (safeturn.com) ? Are they any good?

All indicators I've seen so far, were mounted on the bike...

Cheers,

Michael

That looks pretty interesting. Around here (Midwest) I haven't seen anything like that. I know the riders I see are a little more fashion than function. Cycling seems to be more for recreation than transportation. I don't see a price anywhere. It looks like they actually may be a prototype. I'll also do a little more digging.

I use reflective leg bands on my wrists when commuting to work in the morning for the same reason.

A very good idea that does NOT need batteries!!!!

It does look interesting. However, I have a pair of gloves designed for policemen directing traffic. They have a reflective lime arrow on the back and reflective red arrow on the palm. Based on what I have seen of 3-led blinkies I'm guessing these gloves are probably more visible. They cost about $15, are available at police supply stores and slip over cycling gloves.

I was wondering when something like this would come along. It is a novel idea. I just wonder if people will by into it.

There's a member who made a homemade rear light system with turn lights. All you need is a red light in the middle, blinking amber lights on each each, power and a switch at the handlebar to turn them on and off. Search the forums.

Several Turn signal ideas are on this thread. See the last page for MapTester's new turn signals.
