I did that with a bikes direct mercier kilo WT which looks similar to this Masi, but the kiloWT has track ends on it, so rear wheel removal is PITA, but I have a drum brake on the back too so it's gonna be a pain regardless.

I have recently purchased the Masi Speciale Fixed 2010. The geometry on it makes me feel like a racer. Also, it's super pretty.

I ended up selling my 53 and bought a 56. Transfered most of my upgraded parts over to the new bike and selling off the duplicates. Still have the wheels, which I am going to keep as back ups. My bike has the following upgrades or changes.

Handle bars switched to Race Face
Adjustable stem to dial in fit.
Specialized Avatar saddle
White Industries crank
White Industries pedals
White Industries freewheel
SRAM 8 speed chain.
SKS fenders
Bruce Gordon half clips

I had a Thomson set back seat post but it was too close to the bend and I couldn't get the post down far enough. I toy with the idea of a new post but I need to convince myself there is nothing wrong with the stock. I also have some Ultegra brake shoes with Dura Ace pads to put in but I wanted to wear out the stock ones first.

The ride is predictable and stable as I said in my first reveiw of my other bike. I can say I am quite happy with this bike and don't feel the need to replace it with anything else unless I went to custom made.

Masi Speciale Commuter

@blakcloud

I'm a newbie to forums, so I apologize if this isn't the correct way to post a message. I image searched "Masi Speciale Commuter Front Rack" and I stumbled upon your picture posted on this forum. I quickly signed myself up to ask you this question. How the heck did you manage to secure that front rack? Did you use a customized springboard? I'm leaving on a 450k tour next weekend and thought it would be a good idea to purchase a Soma Mini front rack from MEC to carry small light items. I successfully Macgyvered the install by bending the springboard it came with. I had it bent so that it would run under the caliper brake. But after changing my tires, there isn't enough clearance. The tire hits the springboard preventing it from spinning. If I decide to keep my set up the way it is, 700C 37" I would need to run the springboard above the brake (as shown in your picture). I really don't want to go through all the trouble again bending parts and running to hardware store for Nicks and Nacks. The setup shown on your picture looks legit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
