More people cycling

I started commuting to work last summer, and have taken the opportunity during the winter to add accessories to my Trek 7.3 FX.

This past week I've seen more cyclist on the roads during my commute to work (by car) and wasn't sure if it's the gas prices going up, or if the mild winter has everyone looking forward to spring? The gas prices are around $3.10/ gal in the area so not sure if that's a huge factor to some folks. I wouldn't mind more cyclist in the area since that would be one less person honking at me and screaming "get off the road fa&got". The cyclists I've been seeing range from department store bikes to high end road bikes.

Anyone else seeing more cyclist in their areas?

Not here, I have a couple buddies that I work with that will ride when it’s convenient. They both rode with me one day last week. The weather is getting much nicer.

Perhaps. It's also possible you're just noticing more cyclists now that you're a cyclist yourself.

I actually count the cyclists every day each way on my commutes and, by my very unscientific method, it sure appears that ridership is up in the last couple of years.
