What did/does your GF say about riding a bike that says, fatties fit fine?

Oh yea, the CC looks great!

I peeled that sticker off mine and will do the same on my wife's. In fact, I peeled all the stickers off my Pacer.

So far so good, but this is her first ever drop bar bike so I doubt she even knows what to think yet. I'll see what's happening in a month or two and make adjustments as needed.

She's a 120lbs 5'6" competitive athlete [squash] so she's not overly worried about anyone assuming the stickers are referring to her.

Unfortunately my GF's hands didn't like the drop bars we started with on her commuter rig. So we tried a Titec H-bar which she likes a lot.

Now that we have confirmed she like the H-bar we'll get her a trigger shifter for her Nexus 8 IGH and put a full Ergon Grip on the right side of the bar vs. the shortie I hacked down to work with the twist shifter.

I'm happy we got that sorted and that she's super stoked to ride her bike to work everyday...

What's the tassle hanging from the seat for, or is it just flair?

That saddle comes with several colour leather strings that you can use to lace the saddle with. It's decorative and she's never bothered to take them off the saddle.

Wow, that is a really beautiful bike and the IGH makes it perfect. I am picking up a bike tomorrow with a IGH 8-speed and the JTek bar-end shifter. On the test ride it was quite nice. I admit it looks really cheap though. What are some other ways you can shift a IGH? Can you use brifters?

I love the JTek bar end shifter and Nexus 8 on my Bike Friday NWT. It's the nicest bar end shifter I own. Give it some time you'll like it.

Ouch on the Ergon grip surgery! Trekking bars (with a longer stem) might be another option. I have one set with Gripshifts and another with Ergon GP1s + Alfine trigger shifter. I'm sure one of Ergon's Rohloff/Nexus GP1 short (96.5 mm) grips would work fine.

Have you ever seen a place where you can buy these in Canada/US? I've seen the pics floating around the net, but never found a vendor.

No I have tried all the Ergon/Rohloff/Nexus 8 twistshifter options. They all need to be hacked on a Titec H-bar with even just the shifter on the rear part of the bar. Since my GF has small hands she needs the brake levers and shifter on that part of the bar [I put my brake levers in front of the cross bar, but my hands are XL] which takes up even more space.

The solution is to get the Alfine 8 trigger shifters which don't take up much room and then use a full Ergon Grip.

Or buy a Jeff Jones Loop H-Bar which has much more room on that part of the bar.
