Nishiki NFS Beta as commuter?
I'm looking at getting my first road bike. A local guy is selling a Nishiki NFS Beta on C-List. Is this a decent bike to use as a commuter/everyday (is it something I could ride 30+ miles on when I get to that level?) use bike? From his discription its more of a track/time trials bike. He's asking $450 for it, being all original except seat. It looks like its in awesome shape in the pics. Assuming all is as it is described, is it worth $450?
Thanks, Brandon |
Is this from the early 90s? C'mon now, that's a 20 year old bike. Talk him down to $200-250.

How about a link or series of pics?

I have no idea what an "NFS Beta" looks like, but can't imagine it'd be worth much more than $100.

He has is listed on ebay too... here's the link, it has more pics than craigslist.

I assume this is the bike. It does look to be in really good shape. It might be worth that depending on the market (if thats the type of thing someone was really looking for), but I don't think I would spend that much for it as a commuter. It seems more like a bike someone would pay for that liked/wanted a fun road bike from that era to ride.

thats kind of what I want. I fun bike I can ride long and hard, but commute with as well. I'm just trying to avoid something impractical. this bike is about an hour away, so doing some research. and yeah that's his craigslist ad.

Worth more than $100 for sure... not so sure about $450 though.
