Headlight mounting CARBON forks
 

So, the new bike needs headlights on it (which i have) that mount to handlebars (two units in the set) so i need two brackets, one on each fork leg. i have seen ones for steel no problem, but none for carbon...any ideas?

This probably won't help, but I'll throw it out there just as an idea.

I use the velcro strap to secure a blackburn flea to the carbon fork leg.

Maybe some sort of a velcro strap would work.

Is the wiring long enough to mount them at the hub? If so, use a Paul Gino on one side (mounted with the fender stay on the fork eyelet) and a Nitto skewer mount on the opposite side.

The Nob is a good solution, but I don't know about durability and clamping things around a carbon fork. Maybe if you used a wrap of old innertube underneath first.

I had a 2006 Fantom Cross and if I remember right it wasn't a full carbon fork. From locking to the rack so much I chipped away to the metal. Where the carbon starts not sure. Nice bike btw.

I'd use vinyl electric tape over some old innertube before putting on a NOB band on your epoxy and carbon fork
so as to have no direct contact, buffered by rubber instead..

Your gona struggle with that, I had a similar issue when using a bar bag, eventually gave up with the bag so I could fit the lights on the handlebars, as couldn't get any other solution to work. Doubt those NOB fork mounts will work, due to the shape of the carbon fork, they look as though they were designed for steel fork.

Even if you tried using an handlebar extention mount, it would not get over your bar bag; can you use a rack / seat bag instead of the bar bag?

If you have eyelets, you can use a Paul Gino, or the cheap version, a slice of handlebar (Ask at the shop servicing the most fixies, they always cut down handlebars) JB Welded to an M5.

You can also mount the same slice of handlebar to the nut end of a quick release with copious JB weld and mount a light there.

Does the fork crown have a brake hole? Most dynamo-style lamps come with a bracket for this position. You cam make one to fit most lamps. If you have to, make a bracket which can accept a section of handlebar tube.

If you have a fork fender eyelet you can mount a simple light bar that will hold several lights... fabricating something like this is very simple and if you want to buy one they are out there.

worst case, ill get the Nubs, and then drill two holes and ziptie it around the fork to mount it. i think that should work

now there's a statement to have me say .. good luck on that,

the need for which will vary with the sites where The holes are drilled..

it sould would. drill two holes all the way through the unit (not the fork )after cutting off the strap
wrap the fork in some tape, then ziptie it to the fork. It wont move since the tape will add enough friction to keep it on the outside and the zip ties will conform to the odd shape of the fork

The NOB mounts are nylon, they will conform to whatever shape.

I think they're a great idea and I'll be ordering one shortly.
