This has been a problem that I have run into. I eat at least every 3 hours for my weightlifting and work 10 hour shifts at work. My bag to work is packed full of food and water and not much else. I just bought a nice lunchbox before I got my bike, however it will not fit in my backpack . Tagging this thread for better options

I like bringing various homemade wraps that alternate weekly.
Wrap Idea #1:
Whole wheat wrap
Black Beans
Spinach
Guacamole
Cheese
Chipotle Ranch sauce
Wrap Idea #2
Whole wheat wrap
Hummus
Spinach
Cheese
Guacamole
I like to also add two fruits (usually banana and grapes) and pretzels/nuts. I almost always have a Clif Bar or two handy as well. I was lucky enough to find this nice container that fits PERFECTLY in my Topeak Rack Bag ice pack and all. It has worked out great.

I usually eat at the company cafeteria. My commute just went form 12 miles to 0.75 miles. Now I go home for lunch sometimes as well.

Usually go to the deli downstairs and get a BLT for $3 when I ride my bike. However, after 11 years with my company, I will be starting a position Downtown with a company that caters in lunch every day. Looking forward to this.

I usually bring a sandwich, fruit, snacks for lunch in my seatbag. Sometimes I bring leftovers in a container. I also keep a supply of food in my office for those days when I don't have time to make lunch. I've got a small fridge stocked with yogurt, apples, diet coke, cheese, etc. Also keep granola bars, peanuts, oatmeal in my office. If all else fails, there are several restaurants within walking distance of my office.
One of the reasons why bike commuting saves me money is that I don't eat out for lunch as often. When I drove to work, I usually ate lunch out much more often. Now I eat out once a week at the most, and often not at all.

I eat at my desk. I keep a loaf of bread and peanut butter at work and replenish when necessary. Daily I bring fruit and either soup or a sweet potato. Tasty, economical, filling and healthy. What more could you ask for?

Some of you eat a better lunch than I do at dinner
My lunch for the today with a saving of $5+ or more from eating out. Heck, may not be the best tasty meal but it's healthy:

My challenge with packing lunch has to do with the joys of AZ, even if I froze the food... by the time I arrive, the food is half cooked again... recently I have found that baked goods are ideal, found a recipe for pop-overs, and just stuff them with tuna or turkey etc, add some mustard (individual packets) and it's edible... and already hot :s

In the summer I do lean cuisines a lot, my office is across the street from a huge, good grocery store, so it's way easy to buy groceries on my break, bring it back to the office and nosh out.
Today was a baby spinach omlette.

I bring a sandwich, chips, etc. All in plastic containers that fit inside each other when empty. That way there is room to pack whatever clothes don't get worn on the way home.

i work in a downtown environment with dozens of easy to walk to restaurants for lunch, so i almost always eat out for lunch because i can't be bothered to plan meals ahead of time and then bike to work with them. typically lunch is a salad with meat and/or eggs, or a sandwich with meat or eggs, or chili in the colder part of the year. and i always make sure to have plenty of snacks around the office like fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs.
basically it's all about meat/eggs (protein, protein, protein) and fruits/veggies (vitamins, vitamins, vitamins).

I have to bring my meals in or I give in to temptation and go somewhere bad. But I eat about the same type of food. I keep vinegar and oil in my desk and just bring in a tupperware of greens & stuff in it every day, in addition to whatever meat im eating for lunch.
