Banquet Turkey Pot Pies. Less than a buck at Target and small. I also sometimes pack some hard boiled eggs, but not always as I don't always have them ready at home.
I'm working on limiting my calorie intake to less than 500 a meal, which is easier at breakfast and lunch than dinner. |
-Sandwich made from homemade WW bread with cheese or peanut butter
-Salad, large. -Banana. Being eating from the same lunch menu, pretty much 5 days a week for the last 20 years. |
Bunch of stuff from Costco. I have costco less than a mile away from work. I have bike with rack. We have decent sized fridge. I have 6-7 different variety of frozen stuff i alternate as well as granola, soup, etc.

Lunch? What's that? Must be something private sector people do. I might eat a couple of pieces of fruit or a granola bar between job sites over the course of the day.

Packed lunch, always.
1 cup of some form or combination of beans/split peas/lentils/legumes etc etc etc . . . 1 cup of some form or combination of quinoa, kamut, brown rice, amaranth, barley, rye berries, millet etc etc etc . . . serving of nuts fruits, veggies . . . whatever of each and however much I feel like. Today, specifically, it's Split Pea chilli over Kamut with sunflower seeds and carrots. Grapefruit and Bananas for snacking early afternoon and right before heading home. |
When I worked in downtown Calgary I had endless choices for eating out. Here, I work in a research park at the far end of a university campus and the only choices are a not-very-good cafeteria in the next building, an expensive restaurant next to the cafeteria (same kitchen?) or a grocery store about 10 minutes walk from work. So, it's mainly leftovers or whatever I can toss together the night before when I'm making dinner.

I'm super bad today. It was 44 degree going down the incline this morning and I didn't dress properly. Brrrr. When I got to work, I was a customer of those infamous Roach Coach (catering truck). Got me a Tuna Melt and Bagel. I know I will regret eating that after my stomachs settles.

I typically eat out, poorly and way to much! I've tried to eat in, but I need to get away from the desk to keep my sanity.
|
I drove in today, and I went back to the Chinese restaurant that fell so far off its stride that I stopped going for a couple of years.
Still bad. They're off the list for good. |
I'll get fat around you guys.
Oh wait, I'm already fat! OK. Fatter! |
6" Subway sandwich today, with water. It was a nice change from the microwave meals I've been having.

This has been a problem that I have run into. I eat at least every 3 hours for my weightlifting and work 10 hour shifts at work. My bag to work is packed full of food and water and not much else. I just bought a nice lunchbox before I got my bike, however it will not fit in my backpack :(. Tagging this thread for better options :D

I bring in stockpiles of food on the days I drive in, so I don't have to worry about packing or carrying food on the bike. I'll still usually carry in fresh fruit or any home cooked leftovers on bike days, but even if I don't I'll never go hungry.
Better still, every Friday my company supplies free catered lunch for everybody. (over 500 employees) Pizza, pasta, Italian beef and sandwiches, salad, cookies... I usually eat two lunches and sometimes even go back later to grab some leftovers to take home! I never go out for lunch. |
1 head of lettuce with 1/2 cottage cheese - breakfast
1 head of lettuce with 1 (7 oz) can of Tonno-tuna lunch almost every day when i bike and i bike almost any weather  |
I like to make some variation of a burrito: beans/lentils mashed up with rice/grains and/or some other form of protein, I used veggie protein like TVP and tofu 'cos it's cheap... add cheese if I feel like being opulent. They are good warm or cold, 'cos I am sometimes without a microwave as well. I also cave and sometimes visit the gut truck if I'm on a site.

Maybe a couple of times a month at max I'll go to Subway and get a foot long, that's lunch and dinner for me. Otherwise it's something in tupperware.
I keep ramen in my desk drawer in case of a calorie emergency, but I generally don't have them when I'm cycling. I only get really super hungry when I haven't been riding for weeks. The more I exercise the less I tend to eat. |
Lunch for me is a sandwich and left over salad from last night.
