Impatience leads to BSO acquisition.

Impatience grows on my now 5 month long Cannondale restoration project (and I STILL don't have proper wheels!)

Hello infamous GMC Denali Road bike. Ha ha ha ha. It's more a cross bike , really, but hey beggars cannot be choosers.

It actually rides OK. Brakes, out of the bag, suck, but that's an easy fix. And I have no qualms about abusing the hell out of this thing.

I see people riding those around campus from time to time. If you didn't pay much for it, I say no harm, and you have something to ride that you don't have to worry about abusing it.

I had one of those cheap Schwinn Road bikes (not this model) for a couple weeks and it wasn't bad. I actually got a couple compliments on it. I think in some ways the gearing they have on that Denali makes more sense than the double road cranks I had since I think its more likely people use them as commuters than road machines. Have fun with it.

It'll make you appreciate the C'dale all the much more when it's done.

Right you are, Ken!

I didn't get a deal, but I didn't get ripped, either.

I'm impressed with just how awful the components on this thing are. I mean, I have pretty low standards, but this. Wow. I mean. . the FD is. . .just wow.

Then again, push the pedals that turn the crank that pulls the chain that spins the wheel. . . that's all that matters in the end.
