Was told I'm rich this morning.

I didn't take my bike this morning, and I took a cab in cuz I wasn't feeling well. First time in over 2 months I don't bike into work.

When I arrived @ work someone made a comment (in front of 3 other ppl) about how I'm rich taking a cab into work. I simply said: "yeah, but I don't have a car to pay".. I think that got to them, because all of them made this face ppl get when they are confronted with a different perspective that just makes sense. All 4 @ once said "yes, you're right"

Walked away with a grin on my face.

Cool. No bus available? I'm sure the comments would have been different from that...

Three cab rides in my life.

There are busses, but taking a bus to work means 1:15 or more, compared to 25-30 minutes by bike, or 15-20 minutes by car. I would've been simply wayyyy too late.

Besides, cabs are somewhat cheap here, It's not bad if I do it once every 2-3 months (took it twice since april 2004). Esp since I don't buy my bus pass (last time I checked I think it was over 60 a month). Truth is, I could probably take 2-3 cabs a month and still be saving lots of time and money.

Agreed. I could go in for the metro pass here, that's a discounted bus pas thingy here through work. But I usually pass the first bus that I would have to catch two times on the way to work (once near my home, catch the one in front of it later) and I'd have a 15-30min layover in downtown. No way I would do that. I'll ride in 40 below weather long before I sit in a bus stop for 1/2 hour waiting for a bus in the same...
